Eurostar train from London to Paris

If you don’t like ferries or are afraid to fly, we have a solution for you, namely train travel! Our proposal is to travel by Eurostar train from London to Paris. The train is a fast, convenient and, importantly, ecological way to move between the two capitals of Europe – London and Paris. Without a weight limit and airport transfer, travelers can get off in city centers in just a few hours. And here are details about the route, travel time and attractions that are worth seeing on site.

Eurostar – Route and Travel Time

Departure to Paris is from the station St. Pancras which is located in the city center. It’s located near King’s Cross district, where we have easy access to most metro lines and connections to other places in London. The Eurostar train arrives at a station in the northern part of Paris, Gare du Nord. It is one of the largest railway stations in Europe, which is close to the metro line, which makes it easier to move around the city. We have no problem with transport, which is important if we organize such a trip ourselves.

The London – Paris journey takes more than 2 hours. The route runs through the famous Channel Tunnel (Chunnel). Along the way, we can admire the beautiful landscapes of Kent. Once we are there we can start to conquer Paris ; -)

What to see in Paris?

Paris is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in the world, full of monuments, climatic streets, cafes and museums. A city visited by crowds of tourists every year. Below we suggest what to visit while in the city of love!

  • đź—Ľ The first mandatory destination for every tourist is of course the world-famous Eiffel Tower – the symbol of Paris. While being under the Eiffel Tower, it is worth climbing up the mountain, from where we can admire a beautiful panorama of the entire city.
  • 🎨 If you are an art lover, the Louvre – the largest museum in the world, where the famous “Mona Lisa” is located, and thousands of other works of art that are worth seeing.
  • 🏛️ A must-see of every trip in Paris is a walk through the Champs-ElysĂ©es, one of the most famous avenues in the world, ending with a visit to the Arc de Triomphe.
  • 🏰 If the time allows us to do so, it is worth going to one of the Paris districts of Le Marais. It is an atmospheric district with narrow streets, where we can shop in fashionable boutiques. And at the end of the day go to one of the restaurants here to taste French cuisine!

Practical Tips

If you decide to travel by Eurostar train, it is best to buy your tickets on the official Eurostar website. Please remember that with prior booking we can buy tickets at a better price. About the luggage. There are no strict baggage limits in Eurostar, as is the case with airplanes. Usually we can take two larger suitcases and one hand luggage with us. Important information, passport control is carried out before entering the train. Therefore, if you don’t like to hurry and stress, it’s worth being at the station earlier to have time to go through all the procedures.

On the way you can go to the bar-bistro which is on board the train. We can buy snacks, sandwiches and drinks there. However, it is worth taking something to eat with you.

Finally, a final advice on the transfer from the Gare du Nord station in Paris. As mentioned earlier, this station has excellent connections with the rest of the city. You can choose between: metro, RER (high-speed city railway) or taxi.

So, if not by plane, don’t take a ferry on a Eurostar train journey! It is an excellent way to get to Paris from London quickly and conveniently, and thanks to a short travel time, we have plenty of time to admire the city!
